Description

Description (Service) Grey Bruce Public Health's Harm Reduction and Substance Overdose/Poisoning Prevention Program provides free and confidential services, equipment, and supplies to people who use drugs.

Aims to prevent the spread of HIV and other blood-borne illnesses and help control unsafe disposal of needles in the community.

Provides:
  • sterile needles, alcohol swabs, filters, sterile water, tourniquets, and cookers;
  • disposal of used needles and other drug-use equipment;
  • safer smoking kits;
  • condoms and lube;
  • wound care kits.
Naloxone kits and training are available to people who use drugs, along with their friends or family members or other persons who are able to help someone at risk of an opioid overdose. Naloxone kits are also available from participating pharmacies and community partners.

Also provides referrals to other social and health services.
