Eligibility
Must be registered with the city to book mobility transportation services. Must also have:
the inability to walk one city block or to the bus stop nearest your residence for either the initial or return trip (400 metres) and/or
insufficient endurance or stamina to tolerate a bus ride with multiple stops and/or
insufficient cognitive ability to understand the accessible conventional transit system and/or manage transfers, and/or
disorientation to environment, thereby inhibiting safe and independent use of accessible conventional transit
Application
Application form to be completed and submitted to the City for approval to obtain an Owen Sound mobility transit card and identification number to be used for booking transit service. Applications are available online, at City Hall, Owen Sound Transit Terminal or by email. Application can also be mailed. Application must be renewed every three years. Application must be signed by a doctor, nurse or pharmacist.
Once Mobility Transit Card has been obtained, appointments can be booked by phone. Recommended to book one to two days in advance and can be booked up to two weeks in advance.
Tickets available at Owen Sound Transit Terminal, exact cash fare on the bus. Bus passes can be purchased at the terminal, Owen Sound City Hall and Owen Sound Public Library.
